It's a conspiracy! I know it!
For some reason, I occasionally find that I can't log in to the forums. If I click Sign In or Reply, I just get the same page I was in. This can last for hours (I think I remember one time when it was 2-3 days). I can see that other people do log in and post at the same time, which is why I know this is a conspiracy against me.
The weird thing is that I've seen that I can still log in from other computers. Sometimes this affects just a single computer and sometimes more than one. I have tried every trick I know - delete all the cookies, clear the history, delete the temp files, restart the computer, and nothing helps - just waiting.
I'm guessing Ben used his influence on the NI staff to keep me from getting closer to him.
Molly? Do you confess?
Or, alternatively, have you heard about something like this before? Can you think of an explanation?
If you want some data about this, try looking at your records from yesterday (5/7), around 16:00 to 20:00 GMT. I have tried to log in several times from one computer (failed) and one time from another computer (succeeded).

First of all, altenbach, you have an impressive grill setup there!
Second of all, tst, it's not a conspiracy - I promise! We did upgrade the version of the software within the past week. The new version does have security improvements. This could be why it doesn't remmber you as well as it used to and why it requires you to validate your login more often. It should still allow you to login in silently (you don't have to enter email address and password), but it does require you to click "Sign In."
An alternative would be to use this URL to visit the forums because it will log you in automatically: http://sine.ni.com/niforum/niforum?lang=US&requireLogin=True&forumDU=http://forums.ni.com/

Well, the link helps for auto logging, so that's good enough for me. I don't use subscriptions, so I just need to put it in my favorites instead of the current one.
As for the other issue - I never change my security settings. As an experiment, I tried setting my security (IE) to low and disabling the few plugins I have running. Didn't help.
Admittedly, I'm not the only one using those computers, but I don't think the others do anything to cause this. Plus I still don't understand why it comes back to normal when it does.

I just checked and it seems that about 24 hours later I still can't sign in from that computer, even though I can sign in from 2 other computers.

Sorry to bother you Molly.
It did stop after a few days, but a few days ago it started again. It's possible that this is caused by something in my computer, but I'm not the only one using it, so I can't say. It would be a great help (I hope) if you can dig up the logs from the time I mentioned and see if they reveal anything, because this is really annoying.

Well, it went back to normal a couple of days ago, so I can't try it at the moment, but I will keep this in mind for the next time.
Incidentally, that link works very well. I put it into my favorites folder and it solved the auto-login problem (although it doesn't help when I can't log in)
I'm still not sure that this doesn't originate from the computer, because I can still log in from other computers. A couple of hours before it went back to normal I tried to log in and couldn't. Then, someone else was on the computer (he said the only internet related software he used during that time was IE, Messenger and ICQ, which are in constant use on both computers where I saw this).
