FP-1000, FP-AI-110 Transducer Connection Help

Can you post a screenshot of MAX showing this?  What versions of Labview and Fieldpoint are you using?

Not sure what this would be.  All I can say is to check to make sure you have all the drivers installed on your PC.  Fieldpoint, NI-VISA, ....

I would assume that if you don't have the option of Remote Systems, it means your hardware is not hooked up or powered on.

I'm thinking it is something more than that.  Even on my home PC which doesn't have any DAQ hardware or any remote systems on the network because it is just a small home network, the remote systems option still shows up.  If I click on it, it goes searching, but of course finds nothing.  That's why I think it is some sort of software install, driver install, or settings issue.

I have the FP-1000 & FP-AI-110 connected and from the FP-1000 using RS232 to the PC. I can monitor channels using Fieldpoint Explorer and see the network and access LEDs flicker amber when monitoring (otherwise they would normally be green). I just can't seem to get the FP modules and inputs to be recognized in MAX.

Version:

LabView v6.0, FieldPoint v3.0.0, MAX v2.0.3.6, NI-488.2 v1.6, NI-DAQ v6.8.0f9, NI-IMAQ v2.21, NI-VISA v2.5, Windows 95

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Can you post a screenshot of your MAX?  MAX 2.0 should still have a remote systems listing.

Thanks,

David, I the FP is connected to a Win95 box with no network connection, bad floppy drive, no cd burner and no usb. I don't have any way to transfer the screenshot. I can tell you that I have expanded everything in the tree and "remote systems" is not there.

Thanks.

UPDATE: Ok, I have updated to FieldPoint v4 which updated MAX to v3, and now my FieldPoint modules are showing up under Data Neighborhood. Remote Systems is also in the tree now Smiley Wink. I realize now I won't be able to make use of Remote Systems because of the lack of a ethernet connection.

Thanks for the help and patience. More questions to come.

Since I have updated to MAX v3 I can't add a new VI. When I right click on Data Neighborhood and then creat new, the window that pops up has all the options greyed out except for cancel. What gives?

You are using FieldPoint, correct?

Unless you have DAQmx installed, you won't add anything under Data Neighborhood manually.  When you add a FP under Remote Systems, you will then right click on the target and select Find Devices.  This will auto-populate your data neighborhood with the modules and enable you to configure and customize the channels.
