How to connect FP 1000 and FP 1601 using SRM6100

Hi all,

In my uni lab, I have two system. The first one comes with : FP1000, FP-DO, FP-TC-120 and SRM 6100. The second one goes with : FP1601, SRM6100 and Laptop. Therefore, I want to get the value from FP-TC-120 and also send the controlled signal to FP-DO of the first system from the laptop of the second system.

However, I just see the FP1601 Module in Labview. So, please give me some advices in order to see the FP-DO and FP-TC in Labview for programming.

Regards,

Phong

Check to see if the 1601 appears in MAX under Remote Systems. If it does not, try turning off all firewalls. The device should appear in MAX. Many of the steps found in this KB apply to finding a FP in MAX: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/ABE4BC247E8AC9BC8625734E005CAB42?OpenDocument. After it appears in MAX you should be able to add it to the Project by right clicking the project (in project explorer) and Adding a new Target or Device.

Hi Alex,

I can aslo see the FP 1601 in MAX. My problem is that how can i access FP1000 in order to get the value from FP-TC120 (Because FP1000 does not connect to laptop, so i can not see it in Labview). Can we access FP1000 via FP1601 ?

Many thanks,

Phong

The FP 1000 is a very old device and can only be connected to a computer with an RS 232 serial port, which isn't available on most modern computers.  However, you may be able to pick up a USB to serial adapter if you don't have one.

Here is a link to the user manual for the FP 1000.
