Hello Raymond,
Though this is an older KnowledgeBase article, it is a very useful resource when installing National Instruments software onto your PC. Please take a look at the article and let me know if you have any questions.

I just hooked up my first ever cFP-1804 to the network, using MAX v 4.2.0.3001 with FP 5.0.3009 and can confirm MAX would not recognize the device.
Updated MAX to 4.3.0.49152 from 3rd quarter 2007 SSP CD's, MAX now sees the cFP-2804.
Glad this thread was near the top, saved me from searching!![]()

Hi,
Have you tried the following troubleshooting steps for your cRIO?
1, Check the status LED on the controller. It may be blinking occasionally every few seconds to indicate that it is in an unconfigured state. If the status LED is flashing continuously or solid, it is possible that your controller has an unrecoverable error, and you should contact National Instruments at this point.
2. Switch the reset IP switch and reset the controller to restore the default IP address (0.0.0.0).
3. Disable network firewalls.
4. Ensure that host and target computer are on the same subnet.
Also, try following the steps in this KnowledgeBase article. Let me know if this helps!
