I don't have the fpPublish or the fpRT mnu files, or the ExpresFP.mnu files
I have renamed all of my old versions of labVIEW (ie. oldlabview7.1). I have uninstalled the fieldpoint 4.1 through the windows control panel and downloaded the field point 4.1 zip and reinstalled it. There seems to be no support files for labVIEW 8. After doing this, the above files are not anywhere on my computer. Also, when I go to create an installer, under the additional installers there is no field point choice.
I have tried numerous uninstalls and reinstalls of fieldpoint 4.1 and well as trying both cds of device drivers. Another thing is that on the knowledge base about creating installers: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/5ADBC06AC32E508A8625706E0062EBD1
The example shows the box checked for fieldpoint "5", is there such a thing?
When I get everything working, a question about the iak file. I know that it needs to be put on the target computer in the same place the vi will look for it. If it is something like C:/myapp.iak, is there a way that the installer could put it there so it wouldn't have to be done manually from the app/install cd?
Thanks
Jim

Jim,
NI FieldPoint 4.1 is the version that shipped with LabVIEW 7.1. It will not recognize and install drivers for LabVIEW 8.0. Looking at the NI ftp site and web site, I do not see a newer version posted yet. It should have shipped on the drivers CD that would have come with your copy of LabVIEW. If not, hopefully NI will post it soon.
As for the installer, with the LabVIEW Application Builder (at least in versions prior to 8.0, I haven't played with 8.0 much yet), you could add the IAK file as a support file. Then, in the installer creation tab, under Files, you can set custom destinations for any of the files. In your case, you would Installation Destination as the root directory and would not specify a sub-directory.
Regards,
Aaron

Hi All-
Aaron is correct- there is no FieldPoint driver for LabVIEW 8.0 available on the web currently. The FieldPoint driver was not shipped with the LabVIEW 8.0 Driver CD because the LabVIEW Real-Time module had not yet completed testing for release. The FieldPoint 5.0 driver will be available shortly on the LabVIEW Real-Time Driver CD as well as a web download, but at the moment the FieldPoint 4.1 workaround from the KB Jim posted is the only option for using FieldPoint with LabVIEW 8.0.
Hopefully this helps-

Hi Jim-
For the timebeing, you should just build your installer for the application without including the driver and simply install the FieldPoint 4.1 driver seperately. I will post back to this thread as soon as the new driver is available for download.
Hopefully this helps-
