Can I use a different trigger option for different DAQ channels?

Hi there

I am using an NI-5122 high speed digitiser. I want to acquire data synchronously on CH0, ie. with a function generator external trigger connected to the trigger port of the DAQ, and asynchronously on CH1, ie. using an internal trigger signal. Is this possible? The problem is that I need to record (briefly) what is going on between each of the function generator triggers and I can't think of any other way to do this.

Hi Nat,

Unfortunately, this cannot be done. Both channels of the digitizer will acquire data synchronously and must utilize the same clock and trigger configuration. Is it possible at all to sample what you need on CH1 at the same rate and at the same time that CH0 is sampling? Otherwise, you will need another device in your system.
