How do I disable the 'New hardware detected' message when I run NI-Scope panel.

I have a PXI system with Windows XP running on it. I have a PXI-5112 100 Mhz high speed digitizer card installed.

Every time I run the NI-Scope soft panel I get a message which says a new hardware has been detected. I have to then select my card i.e. a PXI-5112 from a drop down menu to enter the Scope soft panel.

How do I get rid of this message?

Justin,

I tried to get the same or a similar dialog and I can not. I installed a new device and then launched the SFP, when it comes up it only offers to simulate a device. I then went into MAX and detected the Scope. I relaunched the SFP, and it now sees the board and I can select it.

Can you attach a screen shot of the dialog? In addition have you gone into MAX and made sure the device shows up properly in MAX.

When you launch the SFP you should get either a Select Simulate Device dialog or a "Select Device" dialog. You get the simulate dialog if you have no Scope devices in MAX, even if you have one in the system. You get the select device dialog if you have at least 1 Scope device in MAX. However, if you just installed a new board, but it is not in MAX, it will not show up in the list of devices to select.

Hi Justin,
This message will pop-up every time you run the soft front panel to give you the option of either using a device you currently have installed or of simulating a device. At present, there is not a way of disabling this pop up box but I will submit a product suggestion to have the option to disable this pop-up box.

Thanks for your feedback!

A point of clarification:
My above reply is referring to the pop-up box entitled "Select Device" that pops up whenever you run the soft front panel. It seemed to me that this may have been what you were referring to in your original question.

However, if you really are seeing a "New Hardware Detected" message appear each time you run the soft front panel then please refer to the post by Evan above.

Hope this helps!
