I have a 1996 NI-DAQ 1200 card and software, anyway to get this to work?

I am attempting to program a cross-platform application (REALbasic) that will accept a NI DAQ 1200 card input. However, the software and the card are both from 1996 and as such the accompanying software is not usable. Any ideas or help on this would be great!

Assuming I have identified the card correctly, it should work with the traditional DAQ driver version 6.9.1 or earlier.  Note that it is not supported on WindowwsXP or Vista since they did not exist when it was written.

What platforms are you trying to support?

The platform is Mac OS X. My programming abilities are limited and I am having difficulty with I/O recognition as a control in REALBasic. The NI-DAQ software bundle that came with the card contains Basic code for specifically adding this component but as it is from 1996 i have no way of converting the file and due to limited programming knowledge am unable to piecemeal add the controls. If you know of any REALBasic examples of code for the NI-DAQ cards it would be much appreciated. THANKS

According to our online info, your card is not supported on OS X.  I would suggest you repost your question on the Multifunction DAQ discussion board.  One of our users may have a solution for you.  Unfortunately, your question is now far outside my area of expertise, since I have not use a Mac for data acquisition since about 1996 (when I used the NB-A2000 and LabVIEW).

I found some more online resources that state that the card is not supported on OS X. Here's a link to NI-DAQ and NI-DAQmx Base Driver Support for Mac OS. The driver support explains that NI-DAQ 6.6.1 and 4.9.4 is supported in OS 9 and previous where the NI-DAQmx Base is supported on OS X. Unfortunately, the PCI-1200 and DAQCard-1200 are not supported in DAQmx Base. I'd recommend following DFGray's suggestion, but if you don't find any solutions you'll either need to change OS or change DAQ device.
