high speed DAQ for Ultrasonic signal acquisition

Hi,

I m Dushyanth, engineering college student. I am doing a project on the title "Automated Ultrasonic NDT" and i need to acquire ultrasonic signals from a pulser/receiver into my PC. Would someone please suggest a cheap and best high speed DAQ with a sampling rate of atleast 250MHz.

Thanks in advance

Hello Dushyanth,

I am not really sure what your budget and what other specs you need besides the 250 MS/s sample rate (channel count, resolution, bandwidth, etc.), but a good place to start and see what types of digitizers we offer is at ni.com/digitizers. You can search through the products and filter according to what specs you are interested in.

For example, the NI 5761 is a 4 channel FlexRIO adapter module (targetable FPGA processing) with 12-bit resolution capable of sampling at 250 MS/s. Additionally, we offer the NI 5114 which is a 2 channel digitizer with 8-bit of resolution that samples at 250 MS/s. We also have higher-bandiwdth and sampling rate digitizers that could work in the NI 5152/5153/5154 modules.

Our FlexRIO adapter module which is specifically marketed towards NDT applications is the NI 5752, which is a 32 channel, 50 MS/s, 12-bit device. The only downside for you with the FlexRIO modules is that they only come in the PXI/PXIe form factor and would thus require the purchase of a PXI/PXIe chassis to use them in.

Hello Daniel

Being a student my budget is limited. So PXI modules are beyond my reach. However I m interested in the PCI form factors of the digitizers you have suggested. Please let me know if they would solve my purpose. I also feel NI USB-5133 is a good option compromising on the sampling rate. Please advice.
