Aper - how does it affect on my samples

Hi.

I'm intrested how does aperture time affect on my samples. I'm controlling HP3458a multimeter.

I'm changing sample time, number of samples and aperture time.

Input can be voltage distorted 3-4 percent. 

So, if I save my samples, how can I display them in one period? Does aper influence on them?

I want to know exact input, beacuse I want to know if my algorithm works well.

I need to add that I'm sampling sine wave (this is my input which can be distorted up to 4 %) in more periods, but I want to input in one period by samples taken from Hp3458a.

Do you have the manual for this device? That would be the first location I would look at for information on a setting like that.
