Error -1073807253

 I have this error message on my program Error -1073807253
occurred

at VISA Read with possible reasons being VISA:  (Hex 0xBFFF006B) A framing

error occurred during transfer.I don't know what to do. I am using a RS232

serial on a gas monitoring device.

Most probably one or more of your serial settings are wrong.

Check the baudrate, parity and number of bits first.

Then maybe some powerup problems might occur so connect after your instrument has powered up.

hi, I'm getting this error code on Labview 8.2.1.

I'm trying to make a programm that when it recieves the right signal from another computer it continues the loop until it gets back. but I keep getting this error whenever I try and use the read commad. any help? I've checked settings they seem to be fine.

I would re-check your settings as they are the culprit almost all the time. If you are sure of those then make sure you have a properly terminated serial cable. If you have a device that outputs data on a schedule this may also be the problem, this KnowledgeBase has the solution to that issue.
