GPIB (NI-488.2 15.1) on openSUSE 13.2 Linux 64-bit

I'm trying to install the latest GPIB drivers (NI-488.2 15.1.0f0) on openSUSE 13.2 (64-bit). I followed the extra steps (FAQ #6) for openSUSE in the README.txt.

After doing so, and attempting to run the INSTALL file, I receive the following error. Does anyone know how to proceed? Thanks!

NI-488.2 version 15.1.0f0
is about to be installed using rpm at /usr/local/natinst

Cj12345,

Based on others which have received a similar error, it occurs when the file names have changed for some reason.

Is there a potential that file names that it is looking for have changed for some reason or have been moved to a different location?

The other thing I would try is to see if you could download it without getting these errors on a different Linux 64-bit to see if the error is replicated.

Out of curiosity when you restart the computer, and try to use the driver are there things that occur which are not expected behavior? The reason I ask is because it says that it installed, but it has errors and I wanted to know how those errors affected the functionality.

Also have you tried to install 488.2 driver multiple times and does the same error occur?

All of the error messages displayed are related to NI-VISA, or dependencies which would be installed by NI-VISA. Since NI-VISA is not installed by the NI-488.2 installer, it seems you have remnants of an older NI-VISA installation which may not be working correctly.

I would suggest you re-install NI-VISA (Or uninstall it, then install it again). You can obtain NI-VISA from a sub-folder of the NI-488.2 installation media, or by downloading it from ni.com.
