How do you change a sub-vi input to an output?

I recently tried to add outputs to an existing sub VI that the creator is not with the company any more. I wired them but they are coming up as inputs to the sub VI and I can't figure out how to change them to outputs.

You posted this to the wrong board. This is the Instrument Control board and you should have posted to the LabVIEW board.

Are you sure the controls in the subVI are indicators? Can you post the subVI?
