Hi RandallDC,
Sorry to hear you're having this problem. There are a couple of things
you could try. First, completely uninstall any NI software you have on
your system. Then just install NI-VISA (which should install MAX).

Now try to run MAX. If this gives you no problems at all restart and
try to open MAX again. If this looks good so far, then A) MAX runs just
fine on the system, maybe you were having some other driver issue and
B) the next step would be to install the latest NI-488.2 driver to see
if it's causing your problems.

If MAX starts crashing at this point, let us know here in the forums. We'll troubleshoot from there.
