MAX freezes on my T43p

Hey there,
I'm trying to use a PCMCIA GPIB card on my Thinkpad T43p to control an old Ultracision prober.  So far, I've had MAX running once, right after it was installed.  Each time after that, the program opens but completely locks up as soon as I click on anything.  This happens with or without the GPIB card.

I've reinstalled MAX, and am getting the same results.  Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi RandallDC,

Sorry to hear you're having this problem. There are a couple of things you could try. First, completely uninstall any NI software you have on your system. Then just install NI-VISA (which should install MAX).

Now try to run MAX. If this gives you no problems at all restart and try to open MAX again. If this looks good so far, then A) MAX runs just fine on the system, maybe you were having some other driver issue and B) the next step would be to install the latest NI-488.2 driver to see if it's causing your problems.

If MAX starts crashing at this point, let us know here in the forums. We'll troubleshoot from there.
