NI-DAQmx on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5

I am not able to install NI-DAQmx on my Red Hat Enterprise Linux machine. I know that NI doesn't fully support RHEL WS 5 for NI-DAQmx but does for NI-DAQmx base. However, NI-DAQmx Base is not acceptable for us to use. Has anyone been able to install it? I've tried the tutorial on here for Fedora Core 6 assuming it should be the same, but did not have any success.

Hello Mahill,

In lieu of someone posting back with instructions on how to do this the best suggestion I can give you is to try the NI-DAQmx 8.0 for  RHEL WS 3 on your machine.  If that doesn't work for you then I think the easiest solution would be to downgrade your operating system to RHEL WS 3 in order to use the driver.  It may be possible to install a version of NI-DAQmx on RHEL WS 3, but as you mentioned, this is not officially supported and so I don't have a way to test or advise you on how to do it.  If downgrading to RHEL WS 3 is not an option we'll need to rely on someone else from the forum community to provide a solution.

Also, another consideration when using version 8.0 of NI-DAQmx is that you'll need either LabVIEW 7.0, 7.1, or 8.0 as given in this KnowlegeBase: NI-DAQ & LabVIEW Version Compatibility (for Windows).

I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but hopefully it gives you another option if nobody is able to advise you on the installation you're looking for.

Have a great day!
