NationalInstruments.Common.dll 8.7.35.131 is missing

Solved!

Hi,

I'm using Visual Studio 2010 with the NI448.2 V2.8 - http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2129/lang/en. I added references for the NationalInstruments.NI4882.dll and NationalInstruments.Common.dll to my WinForms project that uses a GPIB-USB-HS. The compiler, however, gives me the following warning:

Consider app.config remapping of assembly "NationalInstruments.Common, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=18cbae0f9955702a" from Version "8.7.35.131" [] to Version "8.9.35.302" [C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MeasurementStudioVS2008\DotNET\Assemblies\Current\NationalInstruments.Common.dll] to solve conflict and get rid of warning.
c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Microsoft.Common.targets(1360,9): warning MSB3247: Found conflicts between different versions of the same dependent assembly.

It looks like NationalInstruments.NI488.2 internally refers to the older version of Common.dll. I don't have the 8.7.35.131 version of the NationalInstruments.Common.dll. How can I remove this warning?

Tetsu,

NI-488.2 version 2.8 does not support Visual Studio 2010. Try upgrading to NI-488.2 version 2.8.1 which is the first version to add support for Visual Studio 2010. The readme that can be located on the download page is always a good place to look for compatibility.

Link to NI-488.2 Version 2.8.1 download.

Hi D Biel,

I didn't realize V2.8.1 was the latest version. I always check this site - http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5326 for the GPIB driver updates. But it doesn't show 2.8.1. I'd appreciate it if you'd update the site as well.

Thanks anyways,

Tetsu

Hi D Biel,

V2.8.1 solved my problem. I have a question, though. During the installation, a screen came up suggesting that a patch be installed -

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/302297D3EFE5BE13862578390065C39C?OpenDocument.

I guess the patch is for the NI-DAQmx drivers. I don't use them. I only use NI-GPIB488.2 and NI-VISA. Do I still need to apply the patch?

Tetsu,

This update is relevant for many NI drivers including 488.2 and VISA. I would recommend installing the patch. It is a relatively simple installation.

Hello,

I am getting blue screens after I install the NI-488.2 2.8.1 software. I know there is an update to solve this problem, but the link to download the update does not work!

ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/cdu/ni-cdu265.exe

Could you help me to get it?

Thank you

Hi Guy,

Please help, I am working on XP to compile software with VS2005, but I got the error adding reference NationalInstruments.Comon.dll version 8.7.35.131, the version is added in reference is 8.0.20.270, why this require higher version.

Hey tekhokcolic,

Since this is an old thread, I recommend posting in a new thread to make sure your question gets visibility.

Cheers,
