Hi Guys,
Does anybody have any good recommendations for a Hi Pot Tester. There are three things my customer is looking for even though they are not really essential:
- Good settling time.
- USB or Ethernet connectivity.
- LabVIEW driver.
Like I said, the above are not essential. If you have good recommendations that do not match the above requirements, still let me know; just looking for a good product out there.

Morning Adnan:
It's been many years since I've spec'd one out. Slaughter is one manufacturer I have used (their slogan used to be Slaughter- The Protesters 🙂 ).
Do you need AC or DC, how much voltage and current? An optically isolated communications port may be a feature to look for. High voltage + PC = smoke.

Adnan:
Are you talking about ramp time to the desired voltage? Settling time does not make sense to me for an AC HiPot test- the voltage will never settle since it is an alternating voltage. Traditional HiPot testing also applies the voltage for a given number of seconds to ensure the insulation is stressed for a sufficient amount of time. Motors, appliances, etc typically get zapped for 60 seconds, at least from what I remember from the systems I've done.
What are you testing?

I know we have used QuadTech http://www.quadtech.com/ in the past. Pretty sure they have LV libs.

This one has a 0.1 second minimum ramp, serial port (with optional GPIB??) and a LabVIEW driver (very dated though- v 4)
Look for the Guardian 500VA model.
Wonder why your test takes so long- have you gone through all the settings? I think some units have a post dwell delay after power is removed as a safety feature.
Hope this helps.

Forgot to mention, you may want to look at Associated Research, nice units, but a bit costly.
