SCSI-68 to 8 DB9 null modem

Hi,

Up to now, I use 8 null modem at the end of my standart cable to be able to communicate with my devices.
I'm looking for a SCSI-68 to 8 DB9 null modem cable (RS232 and RS485 as well). Somebody knows if NI do this kind of cable ? Where I can find it ?

Thx

What does the SCSI end plut into? Is this some custom multi-port com board? If it's a commercial board, the vendor should be able to provide a cable. I have some 8 port cards that use an 80 pin connector at one end and break it out into 8 DB25s. This type of cable is very custom and I seriously doubt that you will find something off the shelf. There just doesn't exist a standard for a SCSI-68 cable used for multiple serial ports.

Doyon,

It looks like we might actually have a few cables that have those connectors.  Check out the Developer Zone article here and scroll down to the bottom to see a list of NI's serial cables.  If you'd like, I could have someone work up a quote for you for a few of those cables.

CHad B,

5. RS-232 SCSI-68 to 8-port 9-pin male D-Sub
    185196-01 (1 meter) for 8 port PCI/PXI-232 cards*

    * This is only a convertor cable/box to male DB9 connector. You also need one RS-232 or RS-485 null-modem cable per port, as shown above.
    Am I stuck to have 8 null-modem ?

    Hey Doyon,

I was curious if we could clarify what you're looking for?

On the SCSI end, are you looking for a SCSI connector like the one seen in connector 5 or 6 of the link the Chad had posted?

For the DB9 connector, Are you looking for a connector similar to that in Figure 5 or 6?

What exactly do you mean by "You also need one RS-232 or RS-485 null-modem cable per port"

    Regards,

    Nick D.

I apologize for misunderstanding you the first time.  That cable is essentially designed to be convertor, not an end-to-end cable, so it's terminated with male ends instead of female ends; however, you could just pick up a bunch of gender changing adapters if you're trying to reduce cable clutter.
