Slower GPIB communication performance after upgrading from Windows NT to Windows XP

I detected an overhead of ~5% in GPIB bus communication time when moving from WinNT to WinXP. I use the same hardware (Intel PC, 2.4GHz) just two disks with different OS. Is it a knowing performance issue of Windows XP? Is there a fix or workaround to reduce this overhead?

What kind of interface do you use?
