Hello Nicsog,
Help certainly can be told step by step and we have some wonderful documentation on IDNet that does just that.  The most pertinent tutorial is:

Getting Started Using National Instruments IVI with LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI

Pay specific attention to Step 7 in the second section:
..." Otherwise, select Don't Simulate and create a new hardware asset under the Hardware tab."

Have a grand Friday,

Hi,

You can expand the IVI drivers by selecting the + sign.  After you create the logical you select the driver session you want to use.

Hello nicosg,
Lets limit the discussion of this issue to this thread, so we can all follow it and others can benefit from it.  I posted a link to this thread to the other threads that you started on this topic which can be found here and here.  You need to add your instrument under the hardware tab of your driver and make sure the field under the Resource Descriptor is populated with the correct resource for your instrument.  You should be able to double click on that field and enter the resource descriptor (GPIB1.....etc).

Cheers,

NathanT
