The device did not respond to *IDN query

Hello,

I'm new to all this so I'd apprecitae if someone helps me.

I'm trying to connect a device Cornerstone 130 M7400 to the Labview.

I have another instruement connected to the computer and it works fine but I cannot figure out why this device cannot be recognized. I went to the vendor's website, downloaded and installed what appears to be a GPIB driver (ftp://download.newport.com/Oriel/Mono%20Utility%204.4/74000gpib/)

I can communicate with device using utility that was installed but still I get the error that it's not recognized (in Labview). Can someone help me with this?

I cannot find the manual, so I cannot check if the device supports *IDN. Not all instruments support this. What exactly are you trying to do?

Did you try "Measurement & Automation Explorer"? The device should be listed under the GPIB Interface card. It should also give you the GPIB address.

I googled the device name and it sent me to a NewPort monochromator device. I've worked with NewPort devices before and they are usually very stable. I'll be surprised if it doesn't support *IDN.
