agilent a34980a and IVISwitch driver in LabView

Hi,

I am trying to control the Agilen 34980A Switch using IVI drivers in LabView.

I have configurated the MAX and now I want to execute the example that is in LabView examples "IviSwitch - Path operation  Test.vi".

I think that the MAX is well configured because if I select "disconnect all", all the relays are closed. The problem is that I don't know how I have to configure the strings  'Channel 1' (Source Channel) and 'Channel 2' (Common channel) in the LabView program.

Have I to configure something in MAX in the Virtual Names tab in the Driver Session for the Switch?

Thanks

I am trying to do this as well.  Not positive I have it correct in MAX.  I have tried a bunch of channel names and nothing works.  It always returns the error message about no path between the two channels.  How did you get this to work?

In MAX I have a logical name setup.  This points to an IVI driver with is setup to use the A34980 driver.  For harware I have it pointing to the GPIB string for that device.  The initialization VI works and I see the decive go into remote state.  But the connect VI always errors out.

Hi Unai,

It's been several year...could you recall how did you resolve this problem? Experiencing a similar issue here with 34980A. I have a 34939A seitch board inserted to the mainframe. I installed IVI driver for 34980A and the device is showing on MAX. A logical name was set up. But MAX is not able to tell which board is inserted and thus no string is showing up automatically on the physical channel list. Would appreciate it if you remember your method since it probably would help.
