doesn't generate COM port in MAX for USB interfacing

hello there,

 i am connecting tektronix scope TDS7104 via FT232R USB UART connector and  connection is established successfully. i am connecting usb socket at COM3 port of CPU. problem is that in MAX, it displays" USB RAW" connection as VISA resource name instead of "COM3". and writing manually "COM3" as VISA resource name it geneartes error after passing execution from VISA write block.. give possible solution guyz...

Did you install the driver for FTDI chip?

yes i have installed FT232R USB UART driver and computer as well as MAX detects the interface. but in GUI front panel, it fails to update resource name. i am sure the USB end of this connector i connect, is COM3. earlier using the same connector, FP generated COM3 as resource name and read  data successfully from instrument

Are you on a windows operating system?

I would check in the device manager and make sure Com3 is assigned to your FTDI adapter. Sometimes Windows assigns a different Com port designator to these adapters each time you plug them in.

i have tried all ports but it results nothing and troubleshooting since 2 weeks...still success not achieved
