Are you sure you have the right type of serial cable, straight-through vs. null modem?

I think that might be the problem. From page 77 on the manual posted on the previous page which one should it be?

Yep it needs to be null and mine isn't. I will try that and post back here if the problem persists

So I changed the wire configurations on my cable to match that in the manual (null with Rx to tx on both). Still, nothing on the hyper terminal. I get the same responses as the original poster for the visa test panel.
Write: return count 6
Return status 0
Error on read

Check to see if the serial port is enabled on the instrument.

So I assume the "ENA" command was to enable the remote connection?
