Hi DING,

Have you read through the history of this forum post? Are you using a null modem cable? The hardware line, (CTS/RTS) are needed in order to run the configuration program properly.

Matt

Hello,

We did find one issue where the GPIB-RS232 would not be detected if the computer connecting to the GPIB-RS232 had Remote VISA resources enabled when searching for resources.

A work around is to disable finding resources on remote systems. To do this open Measurement and Automation Explorer and navigate to Tools»NI-VISA»VISA Options»Remote. Under Enable finding resources on these remote systems, uncheck all the resources. Click on Save.

This should allow the wizard to detect the GPIB-RS232.

Thanks,

Steven T

Should it work with a USB RS232 converter? I get the same error and have the settings the way you suggested and am using a null modem cable.

9600,8, none, 1,  hadrware

Thats what the book said the default was for the GPIB-RS232.

I was able to get it to work by using an old XP laptop with a built in RS232 port.
