"visa32.dll causes crash of LabVIEW 5.0.1 with AT-GPIB board on Windows 95"

I installed my AT-GPIB board under Windows 95 according to the descriptions in www.ni.com/support/gpib/win98_95cr.htm and www.ni.com/support/gpib/at-gpib/install.htm.
As a result, the GPIB functions are working properly with LabVIEW 5.0.1, but using the VISA instrument functions causes an Windows error in "visa32.dll" and one has to close LabVIEW. However, the remaining commands in the running vi are executed properly.

What version of NI-VISA do you have? The latest is NI-VISA 2.6 and is available on our web/ftp site. If you currently have the version that came with LabVIEW 5.x, you should upgrade because there have been several GPIB bug fixes. You can read more about those fixes in the readme.txt.

What call is causing the crash? You should use NI Spy to help debug any remaining problems and you can send a .spy log file to our tech support staff if it does not help you resolve the problem. By the way, you should use the Safe Logging option when tracking down crashes with NI Spy.
