wireless GPIB extender?

Hello all,

I have a requirement to control an old HP synth remotely with Labview software. I normally do this with a couple of wired HP GPIB bus extenders, however I now need to do this wirelessly (if possible) over a range of about 40m to 50m. Can anyone throw some light on what my wirelss 'GPIB extender' options might be?

My first idea would be to use a GPIB-ENET/100 to convert to Ethernet and then use standard WLAN equipment for the wireless part.  BTW. Did you allready check how wireless friendly your environment is ? Will you have direct sight between PC and instrument or are there barriers in between ?

Hi,

I may be stating the obvious but if you have the option to use two computers you can use remote panels or shared variables provided you can place the two computers are on the network.
