After upgrading from LabVIEW 8.5 to 2011, I found the new Distributed System Manager did not work as well as the Shared Variable Manager. On the same computer, I found that the Distributed System Manager that came with LV 2011 was not able to see my shared variables update. However, on that same computer which also had LV 8.5, the Shared Variable Manager could see it fine. I do not require the additional features that Distributed System Manager has (managing security, seeing history, etc.). The simpler version, Shared Variable Manager, works fine for my application and it would be great to have the option to choose between the different options.
