Double click creation of Constant/Control/Indicator

Status: Declined

National Instruments will not be implementing this idea. In LabVIEW 2019 and later, the 'Create' menu options for terminals are always available at the top of the right-click menu, making them much more efficient to select.

We do Create Constant/Control/Indicator a lot when working on a block diagram. It could be much easier. How about the following:

Double-click on output terminal with wiring tool - Create Indicator.
Double-click on input terminal with wiring tool - Create Control.
Ctrl-click on input or output terminal with wiring tool - Create Constant.

Front Panel Control/Indicator

Ctrl-click on node should Create Property Node.
Ctrl-double click should Create Invoke Node.

From the first moment I started using LabVIEW I wanted to know where the shortcut was for "Create Constant".  When I teach young kids about using LabVIEW, I call "Create Constant" the "Easy Button".  It's used all the time.  It's a real shame there isn't a faster way to do it.

The suggested inplementation sounds OK, but even if it's not, don't throw out the idea of a faster way to "Creat Constant".
