Make Case Selector same height as tunnel

Status: New

Re-opening because LabVIEW NXG has been discontinued.

LabVIEW's case selector icon (?) is taller than tunnels, so it interrupts wiring flow whenever a standard VI (4-2-2-4 terminal configuration) uses one of the terminals as the selector and an adjacent terminal is also wired as a tunnel.  I'd like to see the case selector be the same height as a tunnel.

I agree that the wire bend is annoying, but I prefer to have the case selector be a different size: it's easier to see among a deluge of tunnels.

I like this suggestion a lot. There are a few places in LabVIEW where the layout/sizing breaks up clean wiring (Timed structures - argh). Maybe a general effort on alignment of various block diagram objects is in order for a version release.

I didn't say it had to be the same size - I said I'd like it to be the same height! Smiley Wink

Oooo touché wired... Good point. Extending it out to the right would keep it distinct, and it would clean up those pesky wire bends. Smiley Happy

Was thinking of something like this (showing original and proposed):

I like your proposed case selector.  It's nice & small.  And still visible among tunnels.

Kudos

Thanks, Ray!

I wish I could move that picture up to my initial post so people could see it without scrolling down.  Guess I should have prepared better!

Don't worry... People will see it 🙂

Status changed to: Completed

Available in LabVIEW NXG, where the Case Structure selector terminal is the same height as regular tunnels.
