This VI in Project in the VI's

Status: New

If i want to find a VI in a project, I have to open the VI, then View >> This VI in Project (Ctrl+Shift+E)

Would be great if i can right click the VI icon and select as shown below.

thanks for your comments
sorry for making a confusion among you.

by the way a subVI sitting on a VI's block diagram is also Viewed as Icon. but by just telling 'right clicking a vi's icon' is confusing for sure. can i call it 'block diagram icon' ??

I have long wanted a similar ability: when the SubVI is selected on the caller's diagram, CTRL+SHIFT+E would show the location in the project. +1

Yes; but taking it even further, and closer along the lines to your idea; i wish that if a VI were currently selected on the block diagram, that CTRL+SHIFT+E would show the selected VI in the project; not the calling VI in the project.

Tangentially related...I often find myself trying to open selected subVIs by pressing Enter.  I feel like there's a good reason I can't, but I can't think of it.

Interesting... this makes sense and seems legit, except it involves taking the right hand off the mouse for the Enter key. Do you mouse left-handed?

I don't.  Off the top of my head I can't think of how I get in the situation where I hit enter, it just kind of happens. I'll try and be more conscious of it next time it comes up.

Hi,

I know it's an old thread but if someone is interested: I created a solution based on "Autohotkey".

Why not a right click menu plug in? That will make it exactly as proposed.

A quick drop shortcut could be useful as well, and easy to make.
