I always have more than 10 windows open when I work and find the Window menu's 10 window limit very limiting. Would very much like the Window menu to list all open projects and VIs in the order in which they were opened.
Limiting the Window menu list is a very common practice across IDEs. Who wants to see a menu that scrolls all the way to the bottom of the screen? That's why there's a "All Windows" menu item that displays a dialog listing all the windows.
Well - I want to see a menu that scrolls all the way to the bottom of the screen 🙂 The kludgy dialog box with the scroll bar doesn't do it for me. Can you make the number of windows in the Window menu user-defined in the ini file?
I easily have enough screen real estate on my laptop for 25 - 30 items in the Window menu. Currently this is limited to 10. I can bring up the All Windows dialog and see about 16 items. So now if I have 8 - 10 VIs with front panels and block diagrams open, I need to go Window>All Windows, and scroll through the dialog box to find what I need. I don't see how the extra step of the dialog box adds value other than the ability to sort.
If possible I would like to adjust the number if items visible in the Window menu through the ini file.
