9864 RMC channel access on a sb9627

Solved!
Go to solution

I am using 32bit LV 2018 on W10, 64bit.

I have a 9627 sbRIO target in the project. I have configured it to have a 9684 RMC board. None of the RMC channels/resources appear to be working. When I drop a FPGA IO Node on the diagram of an FPGA VI, the RMC channels are not available in the selection lists. When I drag an RMC channel from the project onto the VI diagram, that RMC channel is there, but it is "bad". See the screen shot. For an AO channel, for example, the node looks like it returns a value, instead of accepts a value. And the wire out of the return value is dotted. Some sort of error. Any clue how to enable these channels?

TIA,

Hello David,

There're two ways on how to add/access the IO from a RMC card:

1. By adding the RIO Mezzanine Card from the LabVIEW project

2. By using the sbRIO CLIP Generator.

Follow this KB for detailed step by step: Add Digital I/O for a Single-Board RIO Using a RIO Mezzanine Card.

I will leave here a couple of links that may help as well: Knowledge Base article and Forum post

Thanks!

Thanks for your help. With your suggestions, I was able to see that the problem was that I had two sbRIO targets in the project, and I had created my VI in the context of the wrong one! Once I moved it to the target that DID have the RMC, things worked fine.

Hi Dave,

Do you have experience using sbrio-9628 with the RMC card 9684? I cannot find any solid description about the compatibility between the two cards.

Thanks,

Frank

Hello Dave,

Can you please confirm that you have no compatibility issues using the 9684 GPIC mezzanine card with SBRIO-9627? This includes, analog and digital inputs/ouptuts.

The 9684 manual states that it is only compatible with SBRIO-9607.

I compared the RMC connector pin listing of 9607 vs 9627 and it looks identical.

I am a newbie with this board and sbrio platform in general. Can you please provide instructions for driver for the 9684 and labview versions that you had success with?
