Amazing VIs for NIWeek presentation?

Christina Rogers and I will be presenting the Good, Bad, and Ugly at NIWeek this year, but to keep things fresh, we want to focus on the good, perhaps even the great apps out there -- the ones that make you think, "Wow, that was written in LabVIEW?"

We are looking for potential apps that are way cool either because of size, audacity, elegance, simplicity, complexity, or just their ability to make people's jaw drop when seen.

So, if you have a candidate, please send me a screenshot and description. If you want, you can also zip things up and send the VIs. We only have room for about four, so don't miss your chance.

We will contact the author/owner before we decide to use any materials. It is still up in the air, but if you are at the conference, we may involve the author in the presentation.

Thanks in advance.

Whoa, Greg, relax...

That's 5 posts in 6 months. You wouldn't want to burn yourself by posting too much. Smiley Wink

Speaking of which, I believe I've mentioned this before, but you're only 11 posts away from becoming the sixth "Enthusiastic" member. Why not go for it?

Anyway, as for the real reason of my posting, do I understand correctly that this will be focused only on the UI? I ask because I have a specific application I'm thinking of which looks great in the GUI part, but is rather messy behind the scenes and would probably cause Darren's VI analyzer a minor coronary and I'm wondering if there is any point in submitting it.

I think you should submit it...if for nothing else, so I'll have another good monster VI for testing the VI Analyzer... 🙂

Don't count on it, Darren. The application is rather large and I would probably remove a lot of code unneeded for the demonstration (and maybe remove the diagram? Smiley Wink ). The application itself only has 3 or 4 screens which are worth displaying as a demo (at least if you're not near the system it controls) and I could probably extract the code to demo this fairly easily.
