Analog AC voltages interface with DAQ Card

Solved!
Go to solution

Dear All

My sensor is giving AC Voltages of 200mV Analog signal. Can I acquire these voltages on LabVIEW using data acquisition card NI 6281. ( I have already acquired 100mV DC analog voltage signal that was coming from another sensor using same card and I use port 66 and 33 for that signal). Can I adopt the same procedure and use same ports?

Waiting for your response.

Kind Regards

Yes.  Since it is an AC signal, you just need to measure at a high enough acquisition rate to represent your signal.

I am measuring at sampling Rate of  25KS/sec. Is it enough?

You are the only one who can answer that question at this point. The only thing that you have said is that it is an ac signal. What is the frequency range? If it is just the frequency you have to measure, Nyquist says the minimum sample rate is twice the frequency of the signal.

I know Nyquist says you have to sample at at least twice the bandwidth of your signal, but I like to be more around 3-5 times.  So if your bandwidth is only 5-8kHz, then 25kHz is a good sampling frequency.
