Anyone doing simple neuronal spike train analysis?

I have just started using LabVIEW in order to some simple neuronal spike train analysis. Does anyone have VI's already written for this that they would be willing to share to help me get started? Or does anyone have any leads on where to aqquire such VI's? Thanks.

Thanks for your response, PEto", but the link to neural networks that you offered is not a help. Neural networks are something of their own and not very related to my question about neural spike train analysis.

Given a large number of voltage vs. time graphs, I am interested in measuring certain parameters of the data, such as the baseline voltage, the height of the spike from the baseline, the length of time that the spike takes...

These are fairly general questions about graphs, but maybe someone has already written some VI's that I could incorporate into my academic work.

Thanks.

PEto,

In hindsight, I realize that I don't know if the neural networks will be helpful or not. I may have rejected them too quickly. Sometime I'll try looking into them.

Hi,

try to have a look at the following palette:

Analyze/Point by Point/Time Domain PtByPt.

There are several functions to find peaks, perform DC level estimates etc. All work on a continous stream of data.

Have you looked at "Virtual Bio-Instrumentation" by Jon Olansen and Eric Rosow? It is published by Prentice Hall . I skimmed through it and did not see much on neuro work, but it may be helpful. It does have a CD with lots ov example VIs including a neuro.llb

Neural networks could be used to do pattern classification, create associative memories, or to solve optimization prblems. But I think you should use them only when other techniques are not giving good results.
