Append Text Table to Report

I just upgraded to to Labview 8.2 and noticed that the Excel and Word cases are not available in the new Append Text Table to Report vi. How do I position my spreadsheet data when saving to Excel?

Thank you for the post, however I'm still not able to select Excel as a report type. I've never had any other version of Labview on this machine and I tried creating a control (Enum) to the New Report vi. The only selections are Standard Report and HTML and I have Excel loaded. What I'm I missing?

You cannot have multiple copies of the Report Generation Toolkit installed to different LabVIEW versions.  If you want to use the Report Generation Toolkit in LabVIEW 8.2, you will need to uninstall it from your previous LabVIEW version, then reinstall it to LabVIEW 8.2.  If you really need the toolkit installed to multiple LabVIEW versions, there is a workaround outlined in this KnowledgeBase entry, although it's not a complete workaround for the Report Generation Toolkit, since this toolkit is one of the only ones that actually replaces shipping LabVIEW files.

We are currently investigating ways to alleviate the pain of using toolkits with multiple LabVIEW versions.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello all,

This might be a dumb question, but did you install the Report Generation Toolkit? If so, which version? 1.1.1? If LabVIEW 8.20 is the only version of LabVIEW you have installed on this machine, it should have put something here:

C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\addons\_office

Do you have anything in that folder? Let us know what you find and I'm sure we can work it out.

Thanks!

Hi Charlie,

I thought I had installed the Report Generation toolkit because I saw it on my Functions Pallet, but I was wrong. I installed the 1.1.1 toolkit and now it's fully functional. Thank you for showing me the error and pointing me in the right direction.

Tim
