OK this is a tough one.
I've built an application using LV8.2 that communicates with a GPIB instrument (Agilent 34970A). I am using the NI GPIB-USB-HS converter to make things easy. However I ran in to an unexpected problem.
I must include NI 488.2 in the installer for the application in order to run the NI GPIB-USB-HS converter. When I do this MAX 4.1 is also automatically installed. (Even though you could include it separately if you wanted to.) Now when a user installs the application MAX automatically starts, It dose not recognize the instrument on the NI GPIB-USB-HS converter. The user must cancel out of MAX.
How can I keep MAX from being installed, or at least keep it from running?
I tried fiddling with Hardware Configuration settings in the installer builder. I unclicked the "Launch MAX Configuration Import Wizard after installation" but the verify hardware still popped up after installing the application.
Bonus:
Dose the Found new hardware wizard have to run every time the NI GPIB-USB-HS converter is plugged in? (Both on the development system and with the application)
