Atmel AViiVA M2 LV acquisition

I am using Atmel AViiVA M2 LV camera with IMAQ PCI 1424 card. Created camera file with the camera file generator. I am having problem with the signal. See the attached spectral profile. I should have continus profle. But, near 400th pixel the signal drops, and top of the profile signal goes up and down. The camera file and the VI is attached here. please help me.

Hello OCT,

Could you please try one of the ICD files at the following address:

ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/imaq/camera_support/camera_files/digital/atmel/

These are NIs ICD files, we don't have one for your exact model but if you could try Atmel AVIIVA M2 LV 2014.icd. As it is not made for your camera some functionality may be lost but hopefully you will be able to see an image without the issue you are seeing at the moment. If this does resolve the error it is likely you have an error in the ICD file you have created.

Let me know how you get on

Hello Jack

Thanks for your time. I have already tried with Atmel AVIIVA M2 LV 2014.icd but with this ICD file the profile is worse than one I have genrated. I have tried with ATMEL AVIIVA M2 CL_LV 101x.icd, this also give same image like my one. Please suggest me what other options I have.

This LVDS data formate camera and I have IMAQ PCI 1424 LVDS version as well. When I create ICD file (ni ICD files also) it shows

 SignalLevels {
         PixelClock (RS422, High)
         EnableA (RS422, High)
         EnableB (RS422, High)
         EnableC (RS422, High)
         EnableD (RS422, High)
         PGOutput (RS422)
         MasterClock (RS422)
         DataLines (RS422)

Why it dosen't shows LVDS?

Thanks again.

Hello OCT,

The error you are getting, does it look like the you get the drop out with exactly same pixels each time or is it changeable? If you change from '2 Tap interlaced' to '2 Tap Left/Right' or vice versa do you get a different pattern of errors?

Which exact model of the Atmel AVIIVA M2 LV are you using?

Hi Oct,

I am continuing to look into this. In the mean time could you check your connections please. Also a different cable (must be shorter than 10m).

See if this has any effect on the drop out or noise.

Hello Jack,

Thanks for your time.

I have checked the cable, all the cables are less than 10m.

I used different ICD no improvement

Today, I have change '2 Tap interlaced' to '2 Tap Left/Right' to 1 Tap, I saw differen Tt pattern. With the 2ap Left/right, I saw 2 profile and in the morror profile I don't have that noise.

Please see the attached pictures.

Thanks again

Hi Oct,

This is strange. The fact that the image changes with different tap settings suggest the camera is not receiving the command to read the image in a different way but the computer acts as if it is anyway.

Please can you send any setup, spec or user manual PDFs you got with the camera.

Can you also check whether you are able to see the camera in the Measurement and Automation Explorer. It will be under "MySystem" then "Devices and Interfaces" in an IMAQ folder.

If you can do this this check you can snap and grab for a start. Then if it is visible try changing the camera settings from a tab at the bottom of the window (might be options to change gain, exposure time etc...) you might get an error here, if you get to this stage attach a screenshot of any error.

Let me know how you get on.
