When a user is asking for help, getting an answer is his/her interest. The probability to get the solution for the problem is directly dependent on what information the caller is providing (the quantity and the quality of the information).

So I will let you to continue. Please provide us your code or an example which would replicate the unacceptable behaviour. The more you will elaborate on the problem, the better it will be for you

Thank you for your participation in solving your problem.

While evaluating my code please have in mind that I am a LV novice. Therefore sometimes my code might violate some coding rules that I have to learn about myself. But how else could I do that... 🙂

What type of barcode scanner are you using? Is it one of the type that plugs in between the keyboard and the computer? Have you configured it to recognize the barcode type that you are using, most scanners I've dealt with come with a sheet or card of different barcodes and instructions on how to "program" it for the correct protocol. Then when it scans a barcode correctly it will indicate so with a beep or something.

Give us more information, so that we can understand what is happening.

Gee...  LV_Pro and Giedrius said/asked everything I would have said & asked..

With the execption of this one..

Did you ever get the barcode scanner fully working?  Did you scan the template / examples that they typically provide with the scanner?

If it's a wedge type (PS2, acts like keyboard) or USB, can you read the barcode using Notepad?

If you can read other barcodes, but not the one that looses some characters, then what does the barcode look-like?  Is it well printed, smugged, etc.

Is it a linear barcode (UPC lines) or a matrix barcode (square with a bunch of square dots)?  (Or did I miss that?)

If it a serial device check your termination character.
