Building a Windows 98 executable that has a cfp

All:

I need a little guidance, and possibly some medication. I am trying to build a standalone application for a windows 98 machine with a CFP 1804 and AO 200 module. I have the VI working like a champ on my XP machine with the pro dev package, however, this unit needs to operate on one of our legacy machines.

Is ther any way (that anybody is aware of) to create the 98 standalone? Is there older run time engines that I need to download, as well as older MAX? Can I backsave the executable that far?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

BR
Sig.

You need to save your source code in a version of LabVIEW 7.0 or earlier for support in Win98 and then build the application in that environment.

Earlier versions of the runtime engine will not support newer executables.

You cannot save your EXE back to a prior version, you need to save the source code back to the earlier versions, and depending on the version you are using now, it may be a multi-step process (i.e. 8.2 to 7.1, 7.1 to 7.0).  You can post your source here to get multiple steps back, but you will still need the 7.0 or earlier environment to build the executable.

You will need to use earlier versions of your drivers as well.

LabVIEW 7.0 will work on Windows 98, but I think that to use the 180x, you need FieldPoint version 5 and I'm not sure if that will work on Windows 98. I suggest you check that out first. If that is applicable, you can try talking to your local NI office to see what you can work out.

According to this, you need 4.1.2 or newer.  Version 4.1.2 supports LV 6.1.

NI doesn't sell old licenses of LabVIEW. When you buy LabVIEW from NI you're buying a license, and getting the latest version on media. Since you're not actually buying the program, I know NI allowed you do to install an older version (as long as you had the media) and simply use the license you purchased from NI, since the license could be applied to any single install of LabVIEW, regardless of version. You just can't have the license apply to two different LabVIEW versions. The tricky part, of course, is getting the old media. You can't download it from NI, that's for sure. You can buy older versions from third-party sources. Try a Froogle search.
