Hi Tim,
In general, the Nigel AI Advisor is not available as part of the free trial of LabVIEW or TestStand. Nigel requires an active subscription or service program to use, which does not come with the LabVIEW evaluation.
If you have an active subscription or SSP for LabVIEW, you should be able to get access to Nigel even in eval mode. Make sure the serial number you have with service is connected to your ni.com User Account that you use to log into Nigel. You can confirm the steps here - https://www.ni.com/en/support/documentation/supplemental/25/access-nigel-ai-advisor.html
Hope this helps!

according to MS copilot, NI Nigel is included in
- LabVIEW Professional
- LabVIEW+ Suite
- TestStand Development System
you need an valid NI account, and you are prompted to login into that account, when starting NI Nigel

So I'm assuming that Community edition is also a no-go since its not in your list.

thanks for the reminder, I do have a valid labview community edition on a privat machine, but it is labview 2025 q1 32 bit
I am downloading q3 and plan to take a look over the weekend.

Nigel AI Advisor is not included with the LabVIEW Community Edition.
There is a known issue where Nigel is installed with LabVIEW 2025 Q3 Community Edition, but we're looking into fixing that in a future release. As Austin said in his earlier post, you can't use Nigel unless you login with an account associated with an active subscription or SSP for LabVIEW Professional Edition.
[Edit] I realized that Austin didn't specify Professional Edition, and my answer is incomplete. Here's the explanation from NI Nigel™ AI Advisor for Test & Measurement Workflows - NI: "To use Nigel in LabVIEW, you will need an active subscription to LabVIEW Professional or the LabVIEW+ Suite, or a valid NI software service agreement through a single-seat perpetual license, volume license agreement, enterprise agreement, or similar license types."

Thanks for clarifying. I thought that it was too good to be true, honestly. Would have been a great learning tool for those of us wanting to learn new things with LabVIEW. Maybe a way to subscribe to Nigel in the future.

so I explicitly de-installed every NI package via Packagemanger, De-installed Package Manager via Control Panel, restarted machine and then installed labview community 2025 q3
I rememeber, there was a generic serial for community edition, but this is no more the case for the recent Community Edition.
As I also have a valid Labview Professional perpetual licence, and a valid Labview Professional subsctiption licence, both registered to my account.
so when installing labview community via offline installer, the NI installer asks me to install various other NI package, eg. NI Nigel.
but when looking into NI licence manager, the community edition is bound to an extra license (406 days remaining), while NI Nigel is bound to my Labview Professional subscription license (204 days remaining).

That sounds correct, but please note that we're not planning to support using the NI Nigel AI Advisor with the LabVIEW Community Edition (via your LabVIEW Pro entitlement) in the future.
BTW, LabVIEW Community Edition never had a serial number activation. You might be thinking of the Beta.
