I am trying to connect a Flame spectrometer to LabVIEW but I cannot seem to get LabVIEW or NI MAX to find the device.
I have:
LabVIEW 2021 32-bit
Windows 10 64-bit
I have installed the Ocean Optics 2000 4000 driver.
I used The NI VISA Installer Wizard to install the .inf for my Flame Spectrometer
I have USB4000 device driver installed
I have tried some of solutions in this form: Ocean Optics USB2000+ not detected by NI MAX or LabVIEW - NI Community
(Without success)
I am still a little new to LabVIEW so it's possible I'm missing something. Hopefully the images I attached will help.
I am trying to use the FLAME-T-XR1-ES spectrometer by Ocean Optics.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Edit: I have followed Using Plug-and-Play Instrument Drivers in LabVIEW - NI
NI MAX and LabVIEW are not finding my device (USB4000)

Have you tried plugging it in? 😉

Did you install OceanView? They write that the driver is just a wrapper around a DLL of theirs. I guess that this DLL is missing.
Can you take a look inside the "Sepctrometer Setup" VI?

Yes, I have OceanView installed and have done testing with this Flame spectrometer. What's strange is that I plugged in a different Flame spectrometer (an older one [FLMS14139]) and worked with LabView. The difference is how it shows up in the device manager

Can you use the Ocean Software to connect with the USB4000?
Do you have the breakout box for RS-232?

Yes, I have used and tested this spectrometer with the OceanView Software (2.0.12). It connects using USB4000.
I do not have a breakout box for RS-232.

There are steps for switching the driver in the Readme from the LabVIEW drivers. You have to go in to Device Manager and tell it to use the USB4000 .inf file.
You will have to switch it back if you want to use the OceanView software again.
From the readme:
Steps for switching:
Right click My Computer and select Properties
Click on the Hardware Tab, and select Device Manager
Look for NI-VISA USB Devices and expand it
Click on the device and select the Driver Tab
Click Update Driver then "No,not this time" and Next
Select "Install from a list or specific location(Advanced) then Next
Select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" then Next
Select the driver you wish to use, and click Next
The USB Driver you selected will be installed
