Cant access DAQ Assistant thought NI DAQmx is installed

Hi,

I have the following software installed: Labview 8.0 and Traditional NI DAQ and NI DAQmx 8.6.1 (looked this up on MAX). My PCI card is 6250 and I have a BNC 2120. Though NI DAQmx is installed, I cant access the NI DAQmx Assistant or any other mx function for that matter. What am I doing wrong? Should I try reinstalling NI DAQmx?

Cheers,

Bogie

What version of Traditional DAQ do you have installed?  Older versions of Traditional DAQ can't be loaded at the same time as DAQmx.

Hey bogie,

It sounds like your NI-DAQmx installation did not install support for LabVIEW . If you installed NI-DAQmx before you installed LabVIEW then it does not automatically install LabVIEW support. This is because it did not detect LabVIEW on the system. We recommend installing LabVIEW and any other development environments you are using before installing our device drivers. To fix this problem I would reinstall NI-DAQmx 8.6.1 and make sure that support for LabVIEW is selected for installation. This should clear up your problem. Please let me know if you have any questions and take care.

Thanks,
