Here you go!
Global and Local variables result in this. Though, once you link the variable, it goes to the palette of the control/indicator.
Sorry, you guys were so fired up that I got lost in the flow of answers.
That's not a bad answer, although I am not quite clear what you would expect to have access to?
I would expect to be linked to the Structures palette where it's found. I know I need to get better at not using the palettes and better at quick-drop, but when I do use the palette, sometimes I'll click the wrong item accidentally and the fastest way to get back is by clicking on the item I just clicked by mistake to go right back to the correct menu.

Not really. The Not A Refnum Constant can be used on ANY reference: Queue, File, Notifier, Occurrence, User Event, etc. So it kind of makes sense to not assume the file palette.
Like I said above, I would like it to take me to the "File Constants" palette where it was found in case I meant to click the one next to it. Also, a lot of the time I remember where a function I'm looking for is located by thinking of what's next to it.
I don't know, this is all ineresting behavior. Either way, any of this behavior doesn't really have a large effect on productivity.
Cheers

@James.Morris: I would agree with your assumptions. They were mine when I right-clicked on that Not a Refnum constant.
