Controlling Solenoid valve using PCI 6221

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I am new in configuring a hardware to NI components. I want to control solenoid on-off valve with PCI 6221. Valve specification is 2-way solenoid valve operate at 12V DC. Power requirement: 18 watts, 1.5Amps. I have a DC supply sorce that can power the valve.

My main concern is how to assemble these things together. How should I supply the required power to valve, through connector board? Isn't the PCI works at +5V? Will connecting 12V to the PCI 6221 harms the hardware?

Thanks

Pranav

Isn't this a hardware issue?

Yes. I will report it in Hardware board.
