I am using Labview to collect data from QUADSTAR via DDE. QUADSTAR is software which collects data from a quadrupole mass spec based instrument via an optical cord. LabView is the client and quadstar the server. Whenever LabView is open (even if not running a vi) an error is returned by QUADSTAR that it cannot communicate with the quadrupole. Labview seems to be blocking the optical cord. I have tried running the vi as an executable vi using application builder and it still doesnt work. I have also tried using LabView 5.1 (no MAX) unsuccessfully. I have not run the 5.1 vi as an executable because of an error when using 5.1.1 application builder with labview 5.1 on windows 2000.
Can you suggest anyway I can stop Labview interferring with the QUADSTAR communication to the quadrupole and run the DDE. Other colegues have had similar problems. It is not possible for me to run LabView on another computer as timing and data synchronisation are issues.
Thanks,
Emily
