Hi,
We are currently having trouble connecting our NI USB6211 OEM to our computer Advantech TPC-1251T. We used to run it without issue until recently. The card isn't detected by NI-Max or Windows (unknown device).
I tried the reboot - uninstall reinstall DAQ-MX without any luck (actually it did detect and reinstall the driver but all went haywire just couple minutes later...) I was using Ni-Max 9.8 and updated to 15.0 and it's still is the same...
Any idea of what is causing this behavior and how to solve this?
Also blue stormtroopers USB suck's (We are just getting more and more bug related to the usb port) any recommendation to use with such computer (it have mini PCIe port)

Hi Fabrice,
Are you able to use the NI USB-6211 on different computer or does it still have connection issues?

Yeah, sounds like a hardware issue - either with the DAQ device or with the PC. I would try the DAQ device on another computer and see if it gets recognised there. I'd also try plugging it into other USB ports.

Hi Matt, No I can't test the USB-6211 on a different PC, it's already installed on an equipment shipped to our customer.
Strangely we stopped having connection issues today... I didn't do anything other than uninstall-install-update NI-Max (which didn't solve the problem at first by the way).
So we have absolutely no clue what is going on, why it's working now (for how long will it behave properly). We have to plan a trip to check on the hardware by ourselves.
But my supervisor told me he once encounter similar issue (faulty USB connection with the same card because he was using an USB extender to connect the USB 6211 to the computer). So are actually really thinking about using other alternative that doesn't rely on USB connection with the computer; any recommendation?

Yeah, if you're using things like USB hubs that could definitely be the cause of the problem.
If you're looking for something more reliable - PCI, PCIe is probably best - you can also get Ethernet DAQ devices (e.g. cDAQ) but that's subject to network traffic conditions etc.
