Hello,

i want to develp a Plug and Play Hardware Device which could automatically detected by the PC and the LabVIEW gets information of it's port number.

Thanks

Is this LabVIEW related question, If you want to develop plug and play device, then you have to design the specific hardware and  firmware in it has to be written in such a way that windows should detect that new device is connected and assigns the specific port which then can be used by LabVIEW to communicate. The question is either vague or irrelavant in here regarding development of plug and play.Sorry bro.

Yes but how to use a specific device's port is some how realted to LabVIEW because one is not sure that on which port the device would be connected.

Your question is still ambiguous. What kind of port are you talking about? What kind of communication between the 'port' and pc?

At this time i am more concerned with the USB Port. Since these are in greater number in a PC, so how does the computer understand that at which port my device is connected.

Start here to get a brief overview of the windows enumeration process. That has nothing to do with LabVIEW and since you still have not provided any details on the LabVIEW communication protocol you are using, I don't know what else to say. What is the reason for keeping it a secret and at the same time, asking a question?

Its not secret at all. Actually its an idea generated in my mind that if we could develop a hardware how could we let the LabVIEW knows its port number so that the software can detect it and can communicate with it directly.

This is silly. You say its no secret but you still won't provide any details. Have you really done this yourself? Find out the type of USB class - HID, VISA, etc. Or attach your code since you are unable to describe with words.
