Drag and Drop Crazyness

Does anyone know what is going on with the drag and drop functionality of
"file path controls". This functionality is NEVER disabled, even if it is
an indicator in a window covered by a dialog. Is there a fix for this (i am
using version 6.0.2) as this could completly destroy a number of programs i
have previously written. If a control is disabled a user should NOT be able
to change it... what is going on LabVIEW. Cheers for any help and a fix
would be excelent.

Tom,

This is indeed a bug.

You can create a transparent boolean on top of the path, and show or hide
it. If it is shown, it will disable the path.

But it is a lot easier to wait for a fix. Perhaps it is fixed in 6.1? It
shouldn't take NI a lot of effort to fix it, in a patch or revision.

Regards,

Wiebe.

It happens on 6.1 also. As you stated, you can create a workaround, but all the programs would have to be redone and rebuilt.

Tom,

I have submitted this issue to R&D as an incorrect behavior. Thank you all for submitting and testing this issue.

Thanks for addressing this issue. Would it be possible to post a message
here when a fix for this bug is released. The bug has a big impact on a
number of applications we have developed, therefore a fix in the near future
would be appreciated.

Regards,
Tom.

You can disable Drag & Drop for that front panel.

I heard back from R&D and they are in the process of a fix. It will be in a future version of LabVIEW, but I am not sure of the time frame that it will be fixed in.
